'STUTE HOLD OFF PSNI CHALLENGE TO REACH THIRD ROUND
Institute twice came from behind to defeat the PSNI and book their place in the next round of the BetMcLean League Cup.
Played at the Limavady Showgrounds, the PSNI moved in front as early as the 10th minute when Jack McAlister took advantage of a misplaced backpass to knock the ball past debutant keeper Rory Brown.
Gareth Brown levelled for 'Stute just before the half-hour mark after Daniele di Giorgio had fumbled the ball.
That goal came just moments after the PSNI had struck an upright but, on 31 minutes, they did go back in front through Brian Cabraley's well taken finish.
But Institute equalised for a second time five minutes later thanks to Joe McCready's well executed free-kick delivered from outside the box.
That was how it stayed until midway through the second half when Conor Tourish nodded home what proved to be Institute's winner from Raymond Foy's corner.
