EARLY McCARRON DOUBLE SETS ROESIDERS UP FOR LAST 16
Limavady United recovered from surrendering a two-goal lead to defeat Ards at The Showgrounds and secure a place in the next round of the BetMcLean League Cup.
The Roesiders stated their intent early in the game when Sean McCarron opened the scoring after just six minutes before the former Institute man doubled his side's tally with just under a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock.
That second goal sprung Ards into life as Kym Nelson scored from a corner to pull a goal back four minutes before half-time for Warren Feeney's side.
It was Nelson again who found an equaliser for the County Down side, heading home from another corner just before the hour mark.
However, Limavady responded positively to seeing their two-goal cushion wiped out by retaking the lead on 65 minutes courtesy of summer arrival from Ardmore Dean Brown before, in stoppage time, substitute Ryan Logue made sure of their place in the last 16 with a strike from distance.
