MATCH BALL FOR FRAZER AS GLENS SWEEP THROUGH
Jonny Frazer's hat-trick formed part of a first-half blitz that killed off Ballyclare Comrades' hopes of a BetMcLean League Cup scalp at the Oval.
Mick McDermott's Glentoran burst into action after 11 minutes as Jonny Frazer was played through and fired his effort into the bottom right hand corner, out of the reach of goakeeper Hegan.
One minute later the Glens had doubled their lead as Elvio Van Overbeek latched onto a ball over the top of the Comrades defence and cooly chipped the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.
It quickly became a first half rout for the East Belfast side, as Frazer scored his second after 21 minutes after good work from Paul O'Neill.
Frazer secured his hat-trick three minutes later with a superb header from a Conor Pepper cross.
Ballyclare Comrades managed to grab a consolation goal on 58 minutes as Joe Tully fired past Elliott Morris from close range after McIlveen's ball had beaten the home defence.
The visitors joy in the game was fleeting as Glentoran restored their four goal advantage when Steven Gordon scrambled home Van Overbeek's corner on 66 minutes.
