Playing out of the Brandywell, Derry City were founder members of the NIFL Women's Premiership in 2016.
Prior to that they played in the NIFWA Championship, winning the title (and League Cup) in 2015 and therefore gaining promotion. However relegation followed in 2017, but they returned to the top flight a year later and have remained there ever since.
Formed in 2002, the Candystripes have finished sixth in four of the last five seasons and are now managed by Paul Dixon who has spent time with Southampton Women and the girls excellence programme in Northern Ireland in addition to a spell coaching in the United States.
