SWIFTS ON TOP AFTER SEVEN GOAL THRILLER

Chloe McGlade's sensational late winner earned Sion Swifts Ladies the points from this seven goal thriller.

Genny Decker opened the scoring for Swifts as early as the sixth minute after she scrambled the ball over the line following a cross from McGlade from the right side of the area.

Julianne Herrity added a second four minutes later, getting the final touch as both Glentoran defender Kelly Bailie and 'keeper Ashleigh McKinnon attempted to clear.

The visitors pulled a goal back after half-an-hour courtesy of an exquisitely struck Makyla Mulholland free-kick over the despairing reach of Niamh Mailey from some 30 yards.

Then, just three minutes after that, Glentoran levelled when Rachel Rogan slotted into the empty net after Alison McMaster's foray into the area was initially hindered by Mailey before the ball fell loose.

Amy Carr restored Swifts' advantage on 64 minutes with a superb solo effort, beating a couple of defenders and firing well beyond McKinnon's reach into the far corner following Herrity's lay-off.

But, with a couple of minutes left, Mulholland grabbed Glentoran's second equaliser with a strong downward header on the edge of the six yard box.

However, the goal of the game came barely a minute later, when McGlade sent a stunning curling effort from just outside the area beyond the Glens defence and the 'keeper in off the upright and into the top corner.
