SECOND HALF GOALS HELP BANBRIDGE TO ANOTHER WIN

Banbridge Town made it three wins on the bounce with this two-goal defeat of Queen's University at Crystal Park.

The sides traded chances early in the first half with Conor Downey causing some anxiety in the visiting defence while, at the other end, Nathan Jones had a go with a free-kick.

Downey threatened again after that but 'keeper Conor Lally saved well.

Moving into the second half, Queen's looked dangerous through Matthew Hughes and Craig Briers albeit without any end product.

The deadlock was eventually broken in Banbridge's favour with 20 minutes remaining when Stephen Acheson timed his run to perfection to nod a corner from the right beyond Lally.

Stephen McCavitt might have added a second ten minutes after that only to find the net but have it ruled out offside.

But Town's insurance goal did come a short time later when substitute Andrew Wilson fired home the loose ball after another McCavitt effort had been pushed out.
