QUEEN'S PICK UP FIRST AWAY WIN

Newington dominated possession during the first half but were unable to find a way past the Queen's defence.

Indeed, the visitors went in at the break a goal to the good after Daniel Hanna converted from the spot just before the half-hour.

Conal Burns levelled for Newington on 47 minutes with a free header from a well delivered cross.

However, Queen's debutant Daire Rooney fired Peter Thompson's back into the lead with a glancing header into the bottom corner from a Matt Hughes cross.

Then, in the closing moments, Ciaran O'Hare added a third at the second attempt after being teed up by Noel Corrigan.
