Newry City moved to within a point of the top of the table following this defeat of Sport & Leisure Swifts at The Showgrounds.
The visitors got off to the best possible start when, after five minutes, a long clearance was won in the air by Kevin Niblock, the ball falling perfectly for Martin Cunningham who volleyed first time past Newry 'keeper Peter Murphy.
It took Newry some time to settle into the game but, when they did, Carville might have levelled for them with a volley which ended up the wrong side of an upright.
Swifts were reduced to ten men a few minutes into the second half when Pierce Tully was dismissed for a challenge on Mark Patton.
Newry made the most of their numerical advantage with the equaliser on 62 minutes with Carville's first of the afternoon, a shot into the bottom corner at the back post.
The visitors lost another man moments after that when Stephen Tully was adjudged to have impeded Carville as he ran on goal.
But Carville wasn't to be denied on 70 minutes when the McCabe brothers, Mark and Gregory, combined for the latter to finish beyond the reach of 'keeper Michael Magill.
Carville turned provider with four minutes remaining when he skipped past a few challenges before laying the ball off for Jimmy Walker to pick his spot.
The scoring was completed deep into stoppage time after a Carville effort bounced back off the base of a post and, in the scramble that followed, Swifts defender Ryan Burns turned the ball into his own net whilst attempting to clear.
