WELDERS UP TO FOURTH AFTER LARNE WIN

HW Welders leapfrogged Larne into fourth spot in the Championship with this victory over David McAlinden's men at Tillysburn Park.

After a scoreless first half David Rainey fired the Welders in front just after the hour followed within eight minutes by a Darren Nixon finish.

Ethan Boylan then made it 3-0 on 72 minutes when he took the ball round visiting 'keeper Joel Madison.

Matthew Henry pulled one back for Larne with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining after firing home through a crowded goalmouth.

Then, in stoppage time, Stephen O'Neill reduced the arrears further with a header from a Ryan Kane free-kick but it proved too late for Larne to salvage anything from the game.
