PORTS BATTLE BACK TO CLAIM THE POINTS

Portadown came from behind to record a second win of the campaign at Shamrock Park.

The Roesiders moved after a quarter-of-an-hour when a quickly taken free-kick left the Portadown defence cold allowing Gerald Gillan to lift the ball over 'keeper John Connolly from the edge of the area.

Portadown levelled early in the second half through Matt Hazley who had the time and space to drive an effort past Paul Wells after Chris Lavery had slipped a pass into his path.

Then, a few minutes after that, Kevin Amuneke made it 2-1 in Portadown's favour witha low finish beyond Wells at the near post from the edge of the box.
