NIFL CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW

There are two games in both the Championship 1 and 2 at 2pm this Saturday with H&W Welders v Ards the pick of the games.

The top two meet at 2pm at Tillysburn Park as the Welders host second-placed Ards with Gary Smyth’s side looking to go five points clear with a win, but if Niall Currie’s Ards can snatch the three points they will go top.

The Welders are unbeaten in their last five Championship games but dropped points last Saturday in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Ballyclare Comrades. Ards lost 2-0 at home to Institute but followed that up by dumping Ballinamallard Utd out the JBE League Cup in midweek via a penalty shootout.

Donegal Celtic go in search of their first win of the season as Ballyclare Comrades head to Suffolk Road at 2pm. DC have only managed three draws from their 10 games and have lost their last three outings.  Ballyclare have taken four points from their last two games, drawing with the Welders and winning away at Bangor.

In Championship 2, Glebe Rangers entertain PSNI at the Riada Stadium in a repeat of the fixture last March with the visitors winning 8-1.  Rangers have drawn their last two games against Coagh Utd and Dollingstown while PSNI beat Tobermore Utd and drew with Banbridge Town.

Sport & Leisure have won their last two games and welcome Portstewart to Glen Road Heights at 2pm.  S&L put five past Dundela last Saturday and sit in fourth in the table.  Portstewart sit third from bottom as they look for their first win in three games.
