MULLEN STOPPAGE TIME GOAL SECURES POINT CITY

Conor Mullen scored deep into stoppage time to earn ten-man Armagh City a point from HW Welders' visit to Holm Park.

Paul Carville created the first effort of note after ten minutes but the went just past the angle of crossbar and post.

On 20 minutes Ethan Boylan broke clear at the other end but City 'keeper John Connolly was sharp off his line to thwart the striker.

Not long after that a superb Dale Montgomery strike came crashing off Welders 'keeper Samuel Johnston's left hand post.

However, the Welders moved in front six minutes from the break when David Rainey converted from the spot before things got worse for City when Ultan Lennon was shown a straight red card for denying an obvious scoring opportunity.

The ten men levelled eight minutes into the second half through Shea McGerrigan after he got on the end of a long ball before calmly lobbing it over the advancing Johnston.

The Welders regained the lead with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining courtesy of substitute Michael McLellan who rose unchallenged to nod home a corner.

But City secured a point in the very last moments of the game after Mullen met a free-kick delivered into the area to knock it beyond Johnston.
