COMRADES SETTLE FOR POINT FROM DARRAGH PARK TRIP

Adam Gray opened the scoring for the visitors early on after linking up with Matty Parker to drill the ball past Alan Buchanan.

That tonic start allowed Comrades to boss the opening exchanges but slowly but surely Richard Clarke's team gained a foothold as Ballyclare stopper Paddy Flood produced a fine stop to deny Ryan Campbell.

Campbell though wasn't to be denied and three minutes before the interval the sharpshooter raced through to slide the ball past Flood who had been caught in no man's land.

Both teams threatened early in the second period with Stephen Browne galloping through the heart of the Comrades defence but his goal-bound shot was somehow deflected to safety by a backtracking defender.

At the other end Gary Brown, one of the visitors' star performers on the day, fizzed an effort just over as Ballyclare upped the ante in search of a winner.

Dergview appeared content to contain and it was all hands to the pump as their opponents pushed on.

Comrades forced a number of corners and had several attempts at goal but Buchanan and his defence stood firm to secure a share of the spoils.
