Ballymena United recovered from a goal down to comfortably sweep past Newington into the next round of the Northern Ireland League Cup at The Showgrounds.
Despite a bright start, David Jeffrey's side fell behind on 24 minutes when Chris McFall broke in from the right flank to give Alan Blayney no chance.
However, United levelled just after the half-hour mark through leading scorer Cathair Friel after he got his head to a Johnny McMurray cross to the back post.
The Sky Blues then killed the game off as a contest with two goals early in the second half.
First, on 47 minutes, Allan Jenkins knocked the ball home from six yards after McMurray again provided the assist.
Then, four minutes later, Tony Kane made it 3-1 with a penalty into the bottom left corner following a foul on Conor McCloskey inside the area.
Newington were reduced to ten men on 78 minutes when substitute Conal Burns, only on the pitch for 20 minutes, was shown a straight red card for a foul on Caolan Loughran.
McMurray then completed the scoring towards the end with simple tap-in after Friel had unselfishly teed him up.
