A Conor Downey stoppage time winner secured a Northern Ireland League Cup second round berth for Banbridge Town at the expense of Championship hosts PSNI.
Perhaps the best chance of a scoreless first half came courtesy of a Mark Anderson free-kick from outside the area which Stephen Cairnduff did well to get down to save at the post.
After the break, Town might have snatched the lead when Adam Pedlow sent in a free-kick which was eventually turned onto the crossbar.
At the other end Kyle Agnew saw an effort from the left side of the area turned away by Cairnduff before play switched for Downey to go on a short run before unleashing a shot which Jordan Williamson turned away at the near post.
In an end-to-end second half Lukasz Adamczyk then almost hooked an effort home from close range only to be thwarted by Cairnduff.
But, with the prospect of extra-time looming large, up popped Downey to fire home the winning free-kick from some 25 yards out, rising past Williamson into the far corner.
Banbridge have been paired with Premiership opponents Warrenpoint Town in the next round on 30th August.
