Cliftonville Olympic completed a league and cup double on Saturday with an impressive 4-1 win over Belfast rivals Linfield Swifts.
The Reds took the lead in the 20th minute through 'Man of the Match' Ross Lavery. Lavery escaped his marker to head the ball into the net after a cross from the left hand side of the pitch.
Lavery made it 2-0 nine minutes later with a clean shot from the edge of the penalty area which gave Linfield 'keeper Alex Moore no chance.
Having gone in at half-time with a comfortable lead Cliftonville were pegged back early in the second half with a penalty from Gary Lavery. The Blues gave themselves a fighting chance.
However, they left themselves a mountain to climb in the 74th minute by being reduced to ten men with a sending off and a further two goals from the Reds through Tiarnan McNicholl and Gary Donnelly.
Manager Michael Press was very happy with the success of his team: "In my view this was a very competitive game with great quality of play demonstrated by both teams.
"The sending off did change things in the second half and we were able consolidate our lead near the end of the game and achieve league and cup double which is no more than the boys deserve.
"We took our chances during the key stages of the game with the win finishing a very enjoyable season.
"I would like to thank the fans who showed up to support us on Saturday."
