Coleraine kept their remarkable winning streak going thanks to a goal in each half at The Showgrounds.

However, it was Glentoran that started brightly with Eric Foley lobbing the ball just wide followed by a Curtis Allen turn and shot.

The visitors came closer after eight minutes when Marcus Kane saw his header cleared off the line by Lyndon Kane.

But it was the currently unbeatable Bannsiders that edge in front on 17 minutes when Eoin Bradley fired a spot-kick into the bottom corner after he had been upended by Kane inside the box.

And it might have been 2-0 a couple of minutes after that when Jamie McGonigle found himself through on goal but Elliott Morris dealt with the threat with a superb save.

Oran Kearney's side then had further chances through Brad Lyons, McGonigle again and Ciaron Harkin as they finished the first half very much on top.

Glentoran might have levelled midway through the second half when substitute Steven Gordon headed a Ross Redman cross from the left off the woodwork at the back post.

However, Coleraine doubled their advantage on 72 minutes through McGonigle after he connected with a Harkin free-kick to the far post to nod the ball beyond Morris.

Glentoran were then reduced to ten men a short time after that following Foley's dismissal for what appeared to be dissent.
