REDS POWER PAST PORTS AT SOLITUDE

Cliftonville swept to another clinical and untroubled victory to continue their dominance over the Ports in recent years.

The Reds moved in front after 13 minutes through Jude Winchester after Tomas Cosgrove and Jay Donnelly combined for the latter to deliver the cross into the six yard box.

Martin Donnelly might have added a second soon after only to see his free-kick well saved by Chris McGaughey while, around the half-hour mark, a curling effort from Jay rooted the Ports 'keeper to the spot only to drop wide of the target.

However, he wasn't to be denied on 33 minutes after he converted a Levi Ives cross to fire through a packed penalty area.

And it was 3-0 right on the stroke of half-time when Chris Curran sent a low effort from distance below the body of the Ports 'keeper.

Cliftonville continued to be on top after the break with Daniel Hughes testing McGaughey with a turn and shot before Jay Donnelly sent another effort over.

Martin Donnelly also forced McGaughey into action while, towards the end, David McDaid had an effort pushed onto the crossbar.
