LINFIELD GIVE SWIFTS THE FOUR GOAL BLUES

Two second half goals in quick succession helped give Linfield the edge over Dungannon Swifts in this trip to Stangmore Park.

David Healy's side moved in front on 18 minutes through Mark Haughey after he directed a powerful header over Andy Coleman following a Stephen Lowry free-kick from the halfway line.

The Swifts might have levelled soon after when a couple of defensive errors created opportunities for Andy Mitchell but he was unable to capitalise.

But Rodney McAree's side did equalise on 35 minutes through Ally Teggart after Jamie Glackin and Andrew Burns combined down the right before delivering the ball for a close range finish.

Linfield regained the advantage and then extended their lead with two goals in as many minutes early in the second half.

On 50 minutes Andy Waterworth made it 2-1 with a close range tap-in after Haughey and Stephen Fallon combined down the right.

And soon after that substitute Cameron Stewart added a third after nipping in to make the most of a defensive mix-up between Coleman and Chris Hegarty.

Jimmy Callacher added Linfield's fourth on 68 minutes after stabbing the ball over the line from Ross Gaynor's corner.
