CRUES HIT GLENAVON FOR SIX - BUT THERE'S NO TITLE FOR THE SHORE ROAD

Crusaders hit Glenavon for six to end the campaign on a winning note but, unfortunately for Stephen Baxter's men, events elsewhere ensured there was no successive third league title for the Shore Road outfit.

That picture looked very different for a large part of the game, though, after the Crues raced into a commanding four-goal lead by the break thanks to two goals apiece from Michael Carvill and Paul Heatley.

However, Andrew Waterworth's swift second half hat-trick a short distance away at Solitude, meant that Linfield had done enough to claim the Gibson Cup and even further goals from Jordan Owens and Matthew Snoddy could do nothing to change that.
