BROWN BAGS A BRACE IN FRONT OF SKY CAMERAS

Rodney Brown struck twice as Crusaders swept past Glentoran at The Oval in front of the Sky Sports cameras to move into third spot in the table.

After dominating the opening exchanges and having the ball in the net early on, albeit ruled out offside, it was perhaps no surprise when the Crues moved in front on 11 minutes courtesy of Brown's near post header after a short corner was worked into the box.

And they might have added a second ten minutes after that only for Paul Heatley to flash the ball just wide of an upright before, not long after the half-hour mark, Gavin Whyte rattled the ball off the underside of the bar with Elliott Morris stranded as Crusaders continued to dominate.

It took Glentoran some time to gain a foothold on the game and when they did they might have levelled when Curtis Allen sent a left-foot volley just over a minute from the break.

However, Crusaders doubled their advantage three minutes after the interval with Brown's second of the evening. Michael Carvill curled the ball back into the area after his initial corner had been cleared before Brown rose to nod the ball beyond Morris once more.

The game was put beyond doubt five minutes short of the hour when Jordan Owens headed home Crusaders' third header, this time from a Billy Joe Burns cross.
