ALLEN DOUBLES UP AS GLENS CLAIM THE FERNEY PARK POINTS

A Curtis Allen brace earned the points for Glentoran from this opening day of the season trip to Ferney Park.

Gary Haveron's side had to come from behind, however, when a 30th minute Ryan Curran spot-kick - awarded for a Corey McMullan foul on Josh McIlwaine - saw the Mallards take the lead.

The Glens recovered on 38 minutes with Allen's first of the afternoon, a close range finish after James Ferrin headed down a John McGuigan corner.

That was how it stayed until a couple of minutes from time when Allen grabbed the winner after touching home another McGuigan corner.
