CELTIC HIT FOUR TO KICK OFF NEW DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE

Donegal Celtic claimed the first three points of the newly established Championship Development League (South) with a 4-0 Friday night defeat of Loughgall.

Pat Egan's men produced a superb and clinical performance with the highlight being two goals apiece from Tommy Conlon and Thomas Kerr complementing a strong defensive performance.

A goal at the end of each half saw Banbridge Town defeat Lurgan Celtic at Crystal Park.

Nathan Weir opened the scoring on 44 minutes but it looked like the points would be shared when the Hoops levelled right at the end of normal time. However, there was still time for Town to secure the victory courtesy of Brian Johnston's 94th minute penalty after Chris Palmer had been upened by the visting 'keeper.

Elsewhere, Nick Beta found the net twice as Lisburn Distillery defeated Warrenpoint Town while Armagh City beat Annagh United by the odd goal in three.
